Who we are
We can't tell you how often we have made plans as a family to reduce our carbon footprint and be more environmentally sustainable. But staying on track is really hard. One of the reasons we liked the Paris Climate Accord is that it gave us the feeling of being part of something without actually having to do the hard work. It seemed to lighten some of the personal responsibility.
But ever since Trump pulled the US out of Paris that illusion is gone for good.
We can’t tell you how proud we are that our mayor and others are jumping into breach and have pledged to uphold the commitments of the US. But let’s face it–while it is nice to have other people or entities in charge of the world we want to leave to our children, it is really too important a task to sit on the sidelines.
But the problem remains: reducing your carbon footprint and being environmentally sustainable is hard work. Or is it? Maybe it's just smart work. Most developed nations around the world can manage using half the fossil fuel per person. If they have figured it out, it can’t be that hard!
Why don’t we work together to figure it out? If you watch our carbon footprint, we'll watch yours! If you have a good idea about how to reduce your carbon footprint, we may just steal it!
